Moody On The Market

Pat Moody

Ed Hojara is on a roll...and his multi-faceted business enterprise in Bridgman is sky-rocketing exponentially thanks to an incredible work ethic, tremendous customer referrals, and several new revenue streams including one from his talented wife, Natalee. Ed owns and operates both ELH Detailing and Sell4U, a retail consignment business. He outgrew his original space in downtown Bridgman after barely ten months in business and moved everything to property along Red Arrow Highway late last winter which afforded his operations triple the space. Now...barely six months later, he is expanding his Sell4U consignment business into a second showroom right next door which will nearly double again his available showcase space for clients who have hired him to sell their stuff. The truly amazing thing about Ed Hojara is that he ever worried in the first place about his ability to attract enough business to make his multiple enterprises successful. He was a very anxious man a year and a half ago as he ventured into owning his own businesses. Now, his anxiety stems largely from concern about having enough space to handle all of the business at hand. Ed tells me that he has grown his customer base so rapidly that once again he is out of space to handle the crush of product generated by the more than 140 customers he has under contract at Sell4U. Those are very common misconceptions and among those that new chiropractor Dr. Anna Schueneman is working to dispel. Anna recently returned to her hometown of St. Joseph to establish her new chiropractic practice at Dr. Chad Sharkey’s HealthSource Chiropractic & Progressive Rehab on Cleveland Avenue in St. Joseph Charter Township. Dr. Schueneman considers chiropractic to be an avenue to help people heal without the use of medications, shots or surgeries. The accumulation of adjustments, rehabilitation, home exercise and a plethora of modalities like rock tape, massage, custom inserts, and laser are used in her practice to help create a treatment plan that treats the body as a whole and not just the problem at hand. In her new practice, Anna says she sees anything from sprained ankles to headaches, and everyone from babies to geriatric patients. She strongly encourages those who are not in pain to see a chiropractor to assure that everything is moving properly to prevent future injuries. Dr. Schueneman graduated from SJ High in 2006, went to Oakland University for her Bachelor of Science degree in biology, then on to Logan University College of Chiropractic in St. Louis where she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Her clinical experience came with a host of sports teams from the University of Missouri, Northwestern University, Benedictine University, and Lindenwood among others. Anna’s father, John Schueneman is working with her on a limited basis by fashioning custom arch supports in her office for her patients who could benefit from them. He has a Sports Medicine degree from both Western & Central Michigan Universities. HealthSource Chiropractic & Progressive Rehab is located at 2640 S. Cleveland Avenue in St. Joe and can be reached by phone at 269-982-1611. Anna tells me that she returned home not only because her family is here, but because she wants to be able to give back to a community that gave her so much as she was growing up.

The women depicted in a recent photo at Moody on the Market.com and others like them comprise the Women’s Service League in Michigan’s Great Southwest. Soon, they’d like to change the composition of that photo as they prepare to take new charges under their wings through the formation of a new Teen Chapter. The Women’s Service League is a not-forprofit organization of talented women who are committed to promoting volunteerism and improving the community through positive action and leadership. The group has been in existence for 83-years now, having been chartered in 1931. Over the span of more than eight decades the dedicated members of the Women’s Service League have volunteered their time and talents to establishing many well-known events and meaningful services to Southwest Michigan. The WSL is pumped over creation of a new Teen Chapter and will be conducting a membership drive in search of teen girls ranging from their freshman year in high school to age 20 to join the league. As a member, participating teens will have the opportunity to be involved in the community and work with several wonderful organizations including Emergency Shelter Services, Berrien County Council for Children, Berrien Cancer Society, Girls on the Run, Safe Shelter, Lincoln Senior Center, The Readiness Center, Well of Grace, Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Sonya Ansari Center for Autism, Herbie Clinic, and the Benton Harbor Girls Academy.
